As an artist I am trying to capture the essence of my diverse environment on Maui.  Whether it be in the action sports that I am surrounded by in the Maui ocean or the uniquely "Hawaiian" architecture or the gorgeous upcountry views, I strive to interpret these images in a contemporary painting style with decisive color choices.  Living on an island I am surrounded by water on all sides. I see and feel the engagement with the ocean, with everything from canoes to surfboards to taking walks along the waters edge.  I feel the history sprinkled throughout the island towns when seeing many older and deteriorating buildings from the bygone sugar cane era: homes, groceries stores, theaters and businesses. They are all either disappearing, being replaced or changing so quickly.  It is through the use of my art that I feel impassioned to preserve and share this imagery.
